PVC and Sustainability : Recovery and Recycle in PVC industry

On September 29, 2022, The Petroleum and Petrochemical College together with ASEAN Vinyl Council, organized a seminar “PVC and Sustainability: Recovery and Recycle in PVC industry” at Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Manit Nithithanakul, Deputy Dean of the College, opened the event with the history of the project over a period of more than 10 years, leading this seminar for entrepreneurs to be acknowledged about the life cycle of PVC and amount of recycled PVC in Thailand. Mr. Paisarn Lophongphaiboon, General Manager of ASEAN Vinyl Association, mentioned that the main objective of the event was to convey information to entrepreneurs and encourage cooperation in developing a recycle process. In addition, at the event, there was also a panel discussion by representatives from the government sector and related industries, namely, Mrs. Wanich Sawayo, representative of the Pollution Control Department, Mr. Amorn Nantapirom, Mr. Thanit Leaungwilai, representative of recycle entrepreneurs, Mr. Anand Achavakulthep, representative of PVC product manufacturer and Mr. Chanum Chavanich, representative of digital platform services. All representatives discussed on  challenges, solutions, and support from government to develop the PVC and PVC recycling industry for the future.
