AVC supports “PVC Formulation Asia” – an International Academic Seminar

Asst. Prof. Dr. Manit Nithithanakul, Deputy Dean of the College of Petroleum and Petrochemicals, Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Paisarn Lophongphaiboon General Manager of ASEAN Vinyl Council were honored to be resource speakers at the PVC Formulation International Symposium organized by Applied Market Information Ltd. (AMI) of England.

Mr. Paisan discussed the history of the project of PVC recycle database and the importance of the AVC association in Thailand. Asst. Prof. Dr. Manit, on the other hand, presented about the said project over the past 10 years so that both domestic and foreign stakeholders were informed about the life cycle of PVC and amount of recycled PVC in Thailand. AVC hopes this will lead to future cooperation.

Also, in the event, a panel discussion was convened to discuss on “PVC Sustainability trends in Southeast Asia” which has representatives from various countries led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Manit, Mr. Mohsin Iqba, Technical Service Manager of ENGRO POLYMER & CHEMICALS, Pakistan, Mr. Patrick Morel, Director of Innovation and Research at KEM ONE, France. Main objective of the panel discussion is to promote the sustainable development of the PVC industry and the recycling industry.

The event was held on December 8, 2022 at Banyan Tree Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.
